Are your teeth shiny and clean?

31 May 2006

Today’s website is another that falls into the “utterly pointless” category. Unless, that is, you want to know more about the history of toothpaste, in which case www.toothpasteworld.com should be right up your street.

Photograph your square

30 May 2006

Today’s website is www.GeoGraph.org.uk, a collaborative attempt to get a photographic record of the UK. The aim is to get a photo of every grid square. Why not check and see if they’ve got one from where you live, and, if not, submit one.

I wandered lonely as a cloudspotter…

25 May 2006

I wonder what William Wordsworth would have made of today’s website. Continuing the weather theme, www.cloudappreciationsociety.org is a website dedicated to the glory of clouds worldwide. As their manifesto says, they are “fighting the banality of ‘blue-sky thinking’”. I love it!

What’s the weather like?

24 May 2006

Today’s website is one for weather freaks. www.Meteorologica.info is a resource of freely available weather information that you can not only view there on the site but, if you have a website of your own, incorporate it into your own content. And the images are quite cool, as well.

Today’s website is the rather amusingly named www.blifaloo.com. It’s a nicely put together site with games, jokes, puzzles and stuff to do when you’re bored.

My thoughts on the England squad selection

21 May 2006

I was a bit surprised that Shaun Wright-Phillips and Ledley King weren’t even in the standby list (although it’s subsequently turned out that King was injured anyway, and wouldn’t have made the squad even if provisionally picked). But the main list is a very risky selection by Sven’s standards, with a couple of out-and-out wingers […]

Football, fussball, voetbal

21 May 2006

With the World Cup coming up, I’ve decided to add a blog category that’s mostly about football. This is partly in order to add a bit of sport-related interest to both my own blog and planet.uknot.org (where this one is aggregated), but also as a blatant attempt to generate a bit of traffic from footy […]

Challenge Da Vinci

18 May 2006

It was a bit of a toss-up today whether I did a site based on Big Brother 7 or The Da Vinci Code. After all, one is a highly publicised work which is controversially claimed to be based on reality, will generate pages and pages of media comment and garner an audience of millions… and so is […]

I need coffee!

17 May 2006

The name of today’s website pretty much sums up how I feel today. Read all about the wonderful drink called coffee at www.ineedcoffee.com. I’ll have a large one, please…
