I’m running out of ideas

I need some suggestions for website of the day. I have a short list, and a few sites which do much the same kind of thing that I check regularly, but I don’t have a lot in reserve at the moment - and I hate having to trawl through the underside of the web at the last minute in order to come up with something.

So, if anyone reading this (or should that be “if anyone is reading this”?) has a suggestion or two, I’d be very happy to hear them. The requirements are fairly simple:

I prefer sites that are interesting, unique, odd or useful in some way. The more bizarre and off-the-wall the better, as far as “odd” goes. I generally avoid commercial sites unless I really think the product is good - I’m not in the business of giving free advertising. Topical is also good. Excessive advertising - especially popups - is bad.

Thoughts, anyone?

    Hi Mark,

A site that fits in to the useful category is http://www.billybargain.co.uk (easy to read on the radio I’d say!!!)

It is a price comparison site which I found in Web User magazine but it is split into sections: DVD, Music, Games, Books and Electricals. I know there are loads of these around but I love this one because it’s fast, really easy to see, compares prices from loads of UK Shops and very rarely do I have to go elsewhere. It usually beats kelkoo, pricerunner etc. The best thing I find is that if you search for something specific - it finds it whereas if you search for things in the biggers sites you end up with tonnes of rubbish that aren’t relevant at all.

    Cheers
